Amber Scott

Amber Scott is an interior designer passionate about the physiological experience of how light affects color within the built environment. She is meticulous in ensuring every detail and specification is carefully researched and tested to complement the artificial and natural lighting conditions, overall design, and architecture materiality.

Across commercial and residential interior design, her work exemplifies a simplified focus on color and materiality complemented by expertise in the nuances of how an interior will be used. Exploring these goals is a process she enjoys collaborating on with clients and trade partners.

Amber is a graduate of Harrington College of Design and holds a B.F.A. in interior design. She is a member of IIDA, ISCC (Inter-Society Color Council), and AIC (Association Internationale de la Couleur). While in Savannah, she regularly guest-lectured with the Interior Design department of Savannah College of Art and Design, an interior design program consistently ranked #1 in the country.

Color Expertise

After completing her degree in interior design, Amber began her journey in color working as the Assistant Manager and Color Consultant for the UK-based premier paint and wallpaper manufacturer, Farrow & Ball’s Chicago Showroom. She quickly developed a passion and expertise in the science, psychological, and physiological effects of color, and how light affects color within built environments.

She was one of eight pilot color consultants selected to launch the brand’s In-Home Color Consultancy program in North America. Over five years she developed and grew the program, consulting on hundreds of high-end residential and commercial properties across Chicagoland, and the country, advising on exterior and interior color; finish; wallpaper; and material selections across a spectrum of property types from penthouse condos; 10,000 + square foot residences, historic row houses, arts & craft style homes, quaint bungalows, to commercial properties.
